A couple of weeks ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Incredible, the team behind the upcoming debt management app that’s ready to revolutionise people’s relationships with debt. They kindly hosted me in their office for the afternoon, where they chatted about the reason why Incredible came about and gave me a sneak peek of the app itself. Spoiler alert: I was utterly blown away by it.
There were two things that were very clear to me from the moment I met the team: their kindness (they were wonderful hosts!), and their genuine passion about the problems their app aims to solve. Often half the battle with tackling debt can be the lengthy processes in place – so much so we often think it’s easier to bury our heads in the sand. Backed by advisors from some of the world’s most recognised banks including HSBC, Monzo and Starling, Incredible takes all of that out of the equation to give consumers a clear overview of their debt, while simplifying the way debts are paid in the most cost-effective way.
Let’s dive straight into what I love about Incredible.
All your debts in one place
With Incredible, you’re able to see all of your debts in one place – how much you owe, your total credit limit, how much of your debt repayment is lost to interest, and how long it’ll take to clear your debt completely. No more logging into various banking apps or digging out all your paperwork. Bringing everything together helps to reduce the number of hoops to jump through in order to get a transparent overview of debt. Features like this often leave us feeling more in control of our finances and more empowered to make change. It’s so simple, yet so effective, and Incredible does it so well.
Understand how long it’ll take to clear your debt
What really stood out to me was the time it will take to clear debts thanks to compound interest – it was a real eye-opener. Being able to see how changes to repayments can affect your overall picture was truly insightful. A seemingly small change, such as increasing your repayment by £5 to £10 each month, can have a big impact over a long period of time.
One monthly payment no matter how many loans and credit cards you have
Have you ever been unsure which loans you should be prioritising and where to focus your efforts first? You’re not the only one. But with the app, you make a monthly payment to Incredible, and they’ll ensure it’s been allocated to your loans and credit cards in the most cost-effective way. This also eliminates the need for a debt consolidation loan, which can often be a minefield itself. After all, how many of us have procrastinated applying for financial products because we’re not sure we’re making the right decision? Incredible takes the guesswork out and simplifies an otherwise time-consuming process into one single payment. I think this is a real game-changer and probably what I’m most excited about.
Round up your spending and pay towards your debt
You can also round up your day-to-day spending to the nearest pound and use these roundups towards your debt. A few pennies here and there might not sound like much, but it certainly adds up. In case we needed further proof that we can enjoy the things we love and pay off debt at the same time, I think this is it!
I was really impressed by Incredible and how every detail has been thought of to help save time, money, and stress for those who are managing debts. From speaking with the team, it was clear to see they’re just getting started. Fundamentally our relationship with debt and credit hasn’t changed, yet it plays such a significant role in our day to day lives from easing the pain of the cost of living crisis to allowing us to buy our homes. Our relationships to key life aspects from food to transport have all changed in recent years, it’s time our relationship to debt did too.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been so excited about a new app, and I’m looking forward to cheering Incredible on from the sidelines. Most of all, I hope you all love it as much as I do! To be one of the first to get Incredible, join the waitlist now.
Incredible is a long-term partner of How I Fund This. While they very kindly hosted me for the afternoon, and paid for my expenses and lunch, all views in this post are my own.
